At the heart of our mission is a diverse and dedicated Board of Directors who bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and passion, providing strategic leadership while ensuring that all programs align with our vision and mission. This Sisterherd transcends international borders and represents various sectors of the community, including education, public health, business, and philanthropy.  

Channa Beth Butcher

Channa Beth is a retired high school educator who realized her lifelong dream of visiting East Africa 10 years ago.

Salome Aluso

A Kenyan native and a former Fulbright scholarship recipient, Salome is currently completing a PhD in Higher Education Administration and Student affarisat Ohio University.

Rachel Munshower Fox

Rachel's interest in Kenya began at an early age when her family spent 6 weeks in East Africa in the early 90s, traveling through Tanzania and Kenya.

Karen Helmers

As a graduate of Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine, Karen has spent her career managing animal health, protecting animal welfare, and educating human companions as owner of a private veterinary clinic.

Susan Kavaya Moore

Susan is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health at Indiana University, specializing Health Behavior, specifically adolescent sexual and reproductive health issues.

Rhinah Ondiso

Also a Kenyan native, Rhinah began her university studies at the University of Nairobi in 2007.

Jacquie Smith

Jacquie is a Purdue University graduate with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
