Susan Kavaya Moore

Susan is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health at Indiana University, specializing Health Behavior, specifically adolescent sexual and reproductive health issues. Her dissertation research focuses on female adolescents in Kenya and the intersections between gender-based violence, adolescent sexual risk behaviors and HIV risk. Born and raised in Kenya, Susan has worked extensively with adolescents/young people in various capacities including as a teacher at the high school level, as a peer educator, and and as a researcher. Susan also has experience at the university level. In 2013 Susan studied and taught at Yale University through the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistantship program. Following that she was a Kiswahili instructor while pursuing her Master's degree at Indiana University.
